I recently came into possession of some HD/WS (!!!) clips from the 1963 Italian cheesefest 'La Gladiatrici' (many thanks to the donor, who wants to remain anonymous).

This movie has been floating around for a long time, but my friend managed to buy an HD version, and it's a blast to see this thing in full res glory at last!

I've uploaded the clips, it took all day, so sit down and enjoy the madness that was 1960s Italian amazonia.

Here's a mediafire link for download:

Link 1: all the arena fights. I re-edited the fights into one continuous clip, slicing out the silly cutaways. Kills are too numerous and nutty to describe. Sharp pointy stabby things. Clip is 7 mins. Spectacular bodypile:

Link 2: the cutie gladiatrix is set to fight in a training match:

Link 3: having refused to kill her opponent, cutie gladiatrix is executed by arrows to the back:

For those of a Dailymotion-phobic disposition, the clips are on Youtube also:

Happy to help. I draw on a Cintiq/tablet, using Photoshop. I used to use PS 7, but CS5.5 is a much smoother line with the brush tool now.

Here's the process, approximately:

1. Rough sketch, loose, outline.
2. Put a layer on top, make rough outline 40% opacity, so it's greyed out.
3. Draw the cleaned up line layer on top.
4. Merge the line layer with a white layer beneath.
5. Use the selection tool to cut away the white area around the character (the negative space).
6. Paint the solid color areas (setting the layer to 'multiply'.
7. If a shaded effect is wanted, duplicate the color areas, set opacity to ~60 or 70%, then erase where needed.

Hope that makes sense; but basically I just draw them straight into Photoshop, using a very basic 1 or 2 px brush.
